I guess you start to become aware that time is marching on when those who were a source of memories and inspiration in ones youth begin to pass on. And so it is for me with the death of Frankie Knuckles.
No I guessed many of my readers wouldn't, but he was the father of the "House music" generation - a genre you may be pleased to learn scared the establishment no end.
As demonstrated by the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994/33/contents
Notable and infamously Section 63 banning music which "includes sounds wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats."
"includes sounds wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats.", but obviously not including Philip Glass.

I've never heard of Frankie Knuckles either.
I felt a bit of a twinge when Don Partridge cashed his chips in a few years back.
Such a great DJ / Producer, he made some great tracks, i can't get enough of this Your Love track, proper good music from such a legendary icon R.I.P Frankie Knuckles
I'm afraid I've never heard of him. The electronic rhythm on this track sounds a bit like a speeded up tubular bells, to me.
