Italy Prime Minister-designate Mario Monti on Wednesday unveiled his new cabinet to deal with his country’s debt crisis.Wearing a poppy means bugger all, the best way to honour those who gave their lives for 'their tomorrows' is to continue the everlasting fight to preserve freedom and democracy:The former EU commissioner named himself as Italy’s new economy minister.
Monti’s cabinet does not contain a single elected politician.
His ministers are drawn from the worlds of finance, academia, and law.
The 68-year-old does have the support of all major political parties.
Only the right-wing Northern League has refused to back him.
Monti must win a vote of confidence in both houses of parliament before he can officially take office.

ReplyDeleteI may be wrong but is this new Italian Govt. not the same as Mussolini's pre-war Govt. Corporate Fascists?
Well said TBF, I bought a poppy but would not wear it until 11.11.11 I will not wear mine because the wearing of it has become PC and also a fashion statement - not for me it wont.
ReplyDeleteI pray for the safe return of the lads and lasses in Afghanistan and even though that war is a useless forlorn conflict - I support our troops - we will require them soon enough on our streets, for the politicians have [whats new?] as usual chosen the wrong arena, it is coming to us.
Soon enough and it is the politicians fault - these insensate turds who wear poppy - as if it means something to them.
This political scum, are not fit to lace the boots of our forefathers who gained us our freedom - the politicians have given away our cherished birthright and flooded the nation with peoples inimical to our way and traditions. As it was a purposeful act of treachery, then so shall treat I them with the contempt.
I hate them with a vengeance.
