That's the price of the cheapest local garage (Tesco) for me for unleaded petrol. Just before Osborne lowered the duty by 1p on budget day, the price went up 1p then it went back down at 6pm to the same price it was before Osborne's announcement - 133.9p. Since then it's gone up 1p a week relentlessly. Apparently with his budget Osborne wanted to
inject:
"fuel into the tank of the British economy"
Well, I'm still waiting.
TBF: We are doomed I tell you, we are doomed!
ReplyDeleteThe answer is to get yourself elected as an MP, so you don't have to pay for your fuel - then I can pore over your expenses! :o)

ReplyDelete@WfW Bloody hell, you're right being elected as an MP is the only way to go - running your own business on these level of expenses? Nearly impossible - thanks George.
ReplyDelete139.9 here but I care not a jot as my motor vehicle runs on the cheapest veggie oil currently Twatco at 99p a litre.
ReplyDeleteUp here in the darkest reaches of the Hebrides, the cheapest litre of diesel is 152.9p. You lot don't know yer born.
ReplyDelete@Anon well there's always someone worse off than yourself :-)
ReplyDeleteJust to highlight the lunacy that is retail.
ReplyDeleteA quick visit to Twatco for mor veg oil yesterday saw it on offer for 98p per litre because of some price comparison with Sainsbury's. Twatco proving it is cheaper?
So what I can hear you say well the nearest Sainsbury's is 50.1 miles away!!
Not that I am complaining 98p a litre for fuel is fine by me when the pump price of diesel in Twatco's garage is still 139.9p
Sorry should have added on the roads round here 50.1 miles equates to 1 hour and twenty minutes at best.
