I'm not a sports fan so I can't imagine why you are feeling down. Is it something to do with football? I used to have a friend who was/is a Liverpool supporter. Whenever they lost he would take to his bed for the rest of the weekend.
Aye, I'm a Swindon fan, and relegation was confirmed this afternoon - though a long time coming.I'm not quite the; 'take to my bed' person (when you support a club like Swindon you kinda get used to it), It's just put me in a mood where I can't be bothered to write about the misdemeanors of politicians at the moment.Don't worry I'll get over it.
Aw, sob, sob (wheres the tissues)!Seriously, know the feeling TBF, its the same when Essex get thrashed at cricket!ps bit of TLC from Mrs TBF should work wonders!
TLC from Mrs TBF? - No chance she doesn't get this football stuff either. Essex? Not a good start so far for them is it?
My footie team went down to inglorious defeat again and my cricket team snatched defeat from the jaws of victory the other day.My sympathies are with you Frog, I fear my team nicked your best player....very sorry.
@Anon, do I deduce correctly that your team resides in the land of the White Rose and that the player you're referring to has a name that would be more appropriate in a profession as a decorator?
Indeed Frog, you would be correct, though 'our' man seems to have lost his 'art'.
@Anon, Ah, I'd gathered all was not well in pastures new. He was never the most prolific striker in fairness, but he came alive last season with Austin - both had a real understanding together. Austin though was by far the better goalscorer.
We ain't good enough Frog but at least we're still going, it was looking like we'd have to start again - to do a Wimbledon AFC (for different reasons) at one time.Thank the Lord for small mercies, you do have my genuine sympathy Frog.As I said, my team's headlong plummet was so hard to swallow, at times it seemed like we had a business model straight from the hand of Broon's miracle economics or from Narnia maybe? And we're still not out of the woods, we don't know who owns the club, a financial vehicle from the mighty hand of Ken, or God = or who knows?Cheer up friend, there are more important matters (maybe)to hand, try to forget the season of pain and enjoy the long nights and summer.
BTW, Larry likes to play 4-5-1, I don't think that suits old Billy.
Thanks Anon, Oh yes I know all about Broon's football miracle economics book - only a few years ago we came within 24 hours of being liquidated as a result of extensive study of that particular tome.Good luck, your ground is one of my favouites (not always for results) but in terms of noise and passion - it's a proper ground.
Thank you Mr. Frog.
Get the energy up, lad.
